A boy has swagger…

April Summary

…While a man has a plan. So, I didn’t abandon running. Or the site, no matter what it looked like at first. I’m still fiddling with layout options and techniques. I’ve also added a shiny new contact page. The next step is to set up an email for the site so that things from here don’t just end up cluttering my personal email. Plus, there’s something a bit special and professional about having one’s own email. What April represents as far as running goes is a refocussing and refinement of a training plan. And ongoing struggles staying fit enough to run. Being as heavy as I am, I am both injury and laziness-prone. Known issues can be addressed. One with proper gear, rest, and stretching routines. The other can be addressed with this site. It’s easier not to run if the site isn’t expecting an update or new information.

However, knowing that something must be said also creates an expectation that I should follow up and do the other things I’ve planned, as the VA’s M.O.V.E. program teaches. I’ll be applying the principle of S.M.A.R.T. goals, which from now on must include something to bring back here for you, dear reader. Friday’s goal is another run and another run update. With all of the usual details, albeit with one minor change. I’ve temporarily switched from the “Nike Run App” to the “Couch to 5k” app. I needed more structure to my runs to develop a basic level of fitness. Despite the name, the new app has specific training up to 10k. Once I can run 10k without stopping, regardless of speed, I’ll return to the Nike App. This weekend should also have a goal. I pay for a Babel subscription; I’ll use it and find something about the time to post here. Likewise, for Rocksmith, it’s finally time to learn to play my guitar. I need to come up with a catchy sign-off for these posts.
